DESCRIPTION;LANGUAGE=en:Andy Holzer: The Man Who Hears the Mountains\n\nLec
ture in German – ROLLON Austria\n\n\n\nAndy Holzer: The Man Who Hears the
Mountains\n\n\n\nClimbing Mount Everest without sight. Returning to life a
fter the greatest trial of all.\n\n\n\nAndy Holzer was born blind. No colo
rs\, no horizons\, no view of mountain peaks – and yet he grew up with a d
eep conviction: The world is there to be discovered. His parents gave him
the greatest gift of all – trust. They did not say\, “You can’t do that\,”
but rather\, “We’ll find your way.” And that way led him to where others
stop in awe: the mountains.\n\n\n\nAndy began climbing as a child. He hear
s the wind\, feels the rock\, smells moss\, snow and stone. Where others s
ee\, he feels. The mountains do not become an obstacle\, but a counterpart
  – honest\, incorruptible and clear. The mountain does not know that Andy
is blind. It responds only to every step\, every thought and every decisio
 n. And for Andy Holzer\, that is where the truth lies.\n\n\n\nHe does not
climb to rise above others. He climbs to create an inner image. To “see” t
he mountain – with his hands\, his feet\, his heart and his imagination. W
ith the support of his fellow climbers\, this attitude carries him to the
highest peaks on Earth. In 2017\, Andy Holzer reaches the summit of Mount
Everest. Without sight. “I climbed Everest without the aid of light\,” he
later says – a sentence that explains more than any justification ever cou
ld.\n\n\n\nBut life confronts him with an even greater trial. On July 22\,
2025\, he is suddenly torn from his everyday life. An aneurysm. A severe
brain hemorrhage. Andy collapses. Weeks in an induced coma follow\, then m
onths in hospitals and rehabilitation. A life suspended between being and
non-being. Between farewell and a new beginning.\n\n\n\nThroughout this ti
me\, his family and Gabi\, his partner\, are by his side every single day.
Quietly\, patiently and lovingly. They hold him when he can no longer hol
d himself. Andy later says that it was not only his well-trained body that
saved him – above all\, it was this unconditional closeness. The love of
a family that asks for nothing\, but simply stays.\n\n\n\nOn September 16\
 , 2026\, at 7:30 p.m. at Congress Saalfelden\, Andy Holzer will open his h
eart in conversation with Marianne Hengl as part of her series “LICHTblick
e & Wegweiser.” In a quiet and deeply moving conversation\, he will speak
about his new life – about the space in between\, about letting go and abo
ut finding his way back to life between death and resurrection.\n\n\n\n“It
was important to me\,” says Andy Holzer\, “to talk about this story that
caught up with me on July 22 with someone like Marianne\, who knows all of
life’s highs and lows herself.” With someone who knows what it means to f
all\, to fight and to rise again – not despite life’s challenges\, but wit
h them.\n\n\n\nThis conversation becomes more than an interview. It become
s a space of trust and understanding. Andy speaks about a new form of humi
lity and about realizing that success is relative. That a mountain summit
and a handwoven basket possess the same dignity. That life is not decided
at its highest point\, but in the spaces in between.\n\n\n\nToday\, Andy H
olzer inspires others not through records\, but through his attitude towar
d life. He shows us that courage can be quiet. That strength does not lie
in always pushing forward\, but in pausing. And that seeing does not begin
with the eyes\, but with the heart.\n\n\n\nANDY HOLZER! A man who moves m
ountains – not because he conquers them\, but because he listens to them.
